Allow custom connectors developed for rest APIs/ODBC to be used the same way how they can be in PBI services. This would open much more opportunity for dataflow service to be used as a "data warehouse like" environment.

We are aiming to have this for Q1 of 2025.

Note that timelines might be subject to change.

This would be very useful but it seems that it has been removed from release-plan 2023 wave1 data integration planned features . What is the updated planned date ?

Any update? In the last release plan, it was scheduled for march 2023, but I haven't seen any release...

RE: Support for custom connectors in Dataflow

Would appreciate it, if in near time "custom connectors" at on premise gateway (Enterprise mode) will supported.

RE: Support for custom connectors in Dataflow

Any update on adding support for a PBI Dataflow to utilize PBI custom connectors to access various data sources?I am benefiting from a custom connector to access the PBI APIs for operational management of the Tenant. However, I would like to configure a dataset entity once and use it for multiple reports (use a PBI dataflow) for ease of data reangling and full flexibility. Additionally, I'm sure that I will want to use other custom connectors in the future. It seems unrealistic that PBI development will get dataflows to support all the possible data sources in the near future. The timely approach to help us all is to add dataflow support for custom connectors. Perhaps if could be done similar to how the PBI datasets go through a PBI gateway with the custom connector installed. Either way, please add this support ASAP.

Power BI REST API custom connector from a Dataflow makes senseQuery the data once from a dataflow, why query it again and hit the API limits?

Any ETA on this? Is it in the roadmap for Dataflow?

RE: Support for custom connectors in Dataflow

I agree. This would also increase adoption of PBI as people are comfortable and familiar with ODBC.
