New Desktop app update installed an almost white user interface. There is zero contrast which is not good for the eyes. I see where some people have requested a light interface so incorporate an option to select either light or dark theme like in the Office apps.

This request is on our roadmap, but we don't have timelines to share yet. We'll update this idea when there are more details to share. Thank you!

What is clear, is that the team behind this product did a great job, but still, the end user feels disrespected.

Question for whomever the dev team assigns to read or skim through these comments: Why is there dark mode for the mobile apps and not desktop? Are you seriously expecting us to believe that most of the main userbase (higher ups who glance at the finished reports should not count as your main) do the bulk of the hours-or-days-long work on a tablet? Seriously, Microsoft has so much potential with this app but can't deliver a simple UI design that had already been implemented. Everyone knows that UI is just a layer, this should not be the huge ask it's being made to look like.

This doesn't pertain to an overall light/dark mode in Power BI, but still useful (to me) regardless. I had a coworker pose a question about focus mode on a report with white text on a dark background. They would enter focus mode and not be able to see white text on the (focus) white background. The workaround is to go to the view mode in the upper right and select one of the high-contrast colors option to fix the issue. You can get white text/black background, black text/white background, or 2 other contrasting color options.

I'm not sure why I bother checking this periodically, Microsoft clearly don't care about what their users want. All the top voted ideas, including this one have been on the backlog for over 3 years, and just have a vague "we'll get to it at some point" response. If anyone from MS does read this (hah!), please feed back to your team that you can just shut this site down, as it's clearly useless. Thanks

I've recently begun using PowerBI and I am starting to regret it, as I only discovered recently there is no DARK Mode, thanks for the extra headaches...as we are now stuck with PowerBI. How is this not standard these days. The fact that screen time impacts eyesight, and causes damage has been documented for well over a DECADE!

PowerBI is painful for me to use with the super light interface. It doesn't help that I have to use this app so much because that's what my customer base expects their reporting to be done in. This needs addressed as quickly as possible for users like myself who can hardly stand even the thought of using PowerBI.
