New Desktop app update installed an almost white user interface. There is zero contrast which is not good for the eyes. I see where some people have requested a light interface so incorporate an option to select either light or dark theme like in the Office apps.

Please!

My eyes!!

It's crazy to me that this was here originally and then removed. I cannot grasp why anybody would think it was a good idea to remove that feature. Especially when it is available on EVERY OTHER Microsoft application. Please please please fix this - we are all begging.

Welcome to late 2022 Microsoft Power BI team! All white screen backgrounds are very 2008.

Coming up to 3 years now since request and the only feedback we get is:

This request is on our roadmap

The date also has been updated on this Administrator post but the text hasn't changed? I guess 3 years development for a standard feature is fine for a billion dollar business Microsoft.

Does anybody know why this item doesn't appear as the top idea for Power BI?

As of 8/8/2022 9:12 CST the top idea here https://ideas.powerbi.com/ideas/ says "Load data from Office 365 Planner to Power BI" and has 3,823 votes but this Idea has 8,072. Not sure why but this should be one of the top items! Microsoft, check your ideas page, it could be bugging out!

B

Is there an update on this?

B

There used to be an option to use desktop in dark mode, why can't it be rolled back out again. Surely its simple to do since it was there to being with?

B

Please! my eyes are hurting :(

B

agreed, power bi should have options to use either mode or just follow system default as the office suite does.

B

Seriously, almost 3 years and still hasn't happened. I'm still fairly new to Power BI in the grand scheme of things, and I'm just extremely disappointed in so many simple things that just don't exist... like source/version control?! Dark mode should be available consistently across all Microsoft apps, version control & history should always be an option, and why can't I connect directly to a service report from Power BI Desktop? Simple, basic things that were available in other applications almost 10 years ago. The Microsoft 365 complete experience is feeling less and less complete the more apps that I use.
