New Desktop app update installed an almost white user interface. There is zero contrast which is not good for the eyes. I see where some people have requested a light interface so incorporate an option to select either light or dark theme like in the Office apps.

Hard to understand why this is taking so long to implement even though it is massively voted for. It's been sitting there for 2 years and still only an Under Review status? Does this require a massive rewrite of the code or what?
Ironically, there was a time not too long ago that the Desktop app was actually dark. Then suddenly, just when dark mode was becoming the rage all over with dark mode versions released by Android, iOS, MS Office, then Power BI releases and forces on everyone a unique, blindingly white screen.
Go figure.

Please please please! I'm in Power BI editor 15 hours a day and it is literally killing me. I can't see with this white white and white everywhere with no contrast. It's very painful. This small change shoudln't be had to accomplish. What is the delay?

The fact that it's been "under review" for 18 months is quite irritating, given that it's clearly wanted by the community and isn't an extravagant feature request (especially since this feature was already available in 2018!). I really want to emphasize that this simple change would make Power BI much more usable to me.

So let me get this straight... Power BI used to have a dark theme. Taken away in 2019 or so. Immediately became a request and has been under review for what... two years now? This isn't crazy functionality this is just asking for a dark interface. This blinding white is sincerely unusable.
