New Desktop app update installed an almost white user interface. There is zero contrast which is not good for the eyes. I see where some people have requested a light interface so incorporate an option to select either light or dark theme like in the Office apps.

This request is on our roadmap, but we don't have timelines to share yet. We'll update this idea when there are more details to share. Thank you!

RE: Option to use either light or dark interface.
The current PowerBI theme is like throwing bleach into my eyes. Please drop EVERYTHING you do and put the whole department on one single task: FIX DARK THEME. Thanks.
RE: Option to use either light or dark interface.
Any updates here?
RE: Option to use either light or dark interface.
Can we get an update on this? This is really necessary for long days working in Power BI Desktop. More frequently Data Engineers, Data Architects, Data Warehouse Developers, BI Architects and other roles are going into Power BI Desktop. The transaction from Visual Studio for SSIS packages or Azure Tabular cube development and deployment in Dark Mode/Theme to Power BI reporting in the heavy white background is just painful. This is a top-tier end user consumption reporting tool and development tool. Please, please, please bring the Dark Interface capability back. This has to be priority #1 for the Microsoft Power BI Development team.
RE: Option to use either light or dark interface.
Hello Ideas Team do we have any update on this
RE: Option to use either light or dark interface.
I've given up on this... 2 years of waiting and this being in the top 3 most voted ideas
RE: Option to use either light or dark interface.
Do we have a date for the dark mode in the Power BI Desktop release yet? My eyes start to be red from the light mode.
RE: Option to use either light or dark interface.
again, low vision and I enjoy being able to increase font sizes and change colors. I've changed my Windows System Fonts and P-BI doesn't use them. Windows Explorer using my Windows System settings for fonts, colors and backgrounds but P-BI... I'm FORCED to struggle.
Some things, like the DAX editor, I can hold the shift key and scroll to increase/decrease my DAX code but for the menus... I'm SOL. Thanks!!!!
RE: Option to use either light or dark interface.
As a low vision person, I'm INSULTED that Microsoft removed this obviously necessary feature.
In Themes, I tried changing my mode to Dark Mode. I now have Dark Mode in Windows Explorer but still do not have Dark Mode in P-BI.. Thanks Microsoft!!!!
RE: Option to use either light or dark interface.
My temporary fix not just for Power BI Desktop, but across the board, is:
1. Turn on Windows night mode.
Settings / System / Display / Night Light
2. Choose the Dusk contrast theme.
Settings / Accessibility / Contrast Themes / Dusk (or whatever you prefer)
Alternately, you might choose some combination of Dark Mode, Night Light, and grayscale if you only want darken things up a bit:
Settings / System / Display / Night Light
Settings / Personalization / Choose Your Mode (Dark)
Accessibility / Color Filters / Grayscale
But yes, also looking forward to a dark mode in PBI Desktop's UI that doesn't affect the color for visuals etc.
RE: Option to use either light or dark interface.
Please don't forget to also provide a folly working PBI Report Theme along with the UI Theme. Today we have the innovate Theme, but that is not folly working since the hovering background to the Headings menu is shown in light gray background towards white text-fronts
