Column visibility , depends on the criteria there should be an option to show/hide column on table.

RE: Hide/Show Column on Table

We could do this with some conditional creativity in SSRS.

Building a drop down to give the user the ability to "show" the columns they want would be huge!

RE: Hide/Show Column on Table

Needed: hide and show table columns managed by the end user.

Example:
* A multinational company with a business unit in each country.
* Every country does maintain the item numbers themselves.
* A worldwide item number format is mapped to the local ones
* Depending on the role the users needs Item and Description:
-> Worldwide only
-> Local only
-> Both

Without this feature we
* either give to much information for some users
* or we have to use bookmarks with a couple of duplicated visuals (Difficult to maintain)
* or we have to create a separated report for every user type (Ugly to maintain)

I totaly agree with Jhinge Pranav. A customer with the requirements above is currently using 200 Qlik licenses and asked us to showcase Power BI. Low brainers like this feature can be a game changer...

RE: Hide/Show Column on Table

The work around of making the font and the background white really doesn't work for a wide column.  I have values with the same title, but different ids.  I need to show multiple rows of titles where the ids are different and I need the measures to apply the current id, but the ids are ugly and no one wants to see them.  Having this feature would be perfect.  I hid columns all the time with SSRS.  It is even better if you can change the visibility of a column using an expression.

RE: Hide/Show Column on Table

This would eliminate the need to create duplicate tables based on whether you need a field to be visible or not.

RE: Hide/Show Column on Table

Because drill-through filtering depends on data included in the source visual, we need to be able to include the column and hide it for that purpose.

RE: Hide/Show Column on Table

Very basic functionality available in all other BI tools, and very much critical for increasing user experience in adding self-service capabilities

Bookmark function in paginated version is heavily needed.

I'm new to this Power BI, however, a lot of experience in other visualisation tools. I cannot believe that this is not a standard function

RE: Hide/Show Column on Table

There are drill through situations where the column used to link is not something you want to be displayed (or exported) in the data grid. For example, say we have a SITE and ITEM two column filter. To make the relationship linkage we concatenate SITE&ITEM into a SITE_ITEM column in the parent and child tables.

We then add SITE_ITEM to the drill through filters and to the table grid on the parent report. We want to show SITE and ITEM as two columns in the parent table grid, not the concatenated link that is used by the relationship to drill through.

We need to be able to add SITE_ITEM to the parent table grid, hide it and use it as the link to the child drill through.
