Power BI should have a Lite License for people that only consume dashboards or reports every now and then. This is for people that don't create reports but need to see the dashboards and may need to use the "report level" to be able to export output to PowerPoint (since you can't export the dashboard to PowerPoint but can only do it at Report level).

With the introduction of Power BI Premium earlier this year, there are now two licensing options for Power BI: Power BI Pro and Power BI Premium. This provides the flexibility to select the model that best meets the needs of individual users and entire organizations – whether that’s equipping users with access to self-service BI, broadening the reach of BI content for users occasionally viewing dashboards and reports, or elevating storage sizes, increasing refresh rates and introducing other performance capabilities based on workload requirements. The right choice, Pro or Premium, depends on your particular situation. We've been listening to your questions on UserVoice, the community, and other forums about what option to choose, and have developed a FAQ on our blog that answers the most common questions. Check it out at https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/power-bi-pro-power-bi-premium-flexibility-to-choose-the-licensing-best-for-you-and-your-organization/.

RE: Power BI Lite License
Or provide an affordable alternative to PowerBI Premium. We are a small company, with many small customers, PowerBI Premium is currently not fitting in the budget and is overkill. We will probably need it in the feature, but now it will probably lead us to use a different solution, and therefore abandoning PowerBI for good.
RE: Power BI Lite License
Really need this. We have developed various dashboards for customers but they now require a Pro License just to view them. At £10 p/m per user this prices it out - will now have to look elsewhere - shame, really liked the product.
RE: Power BI Lite License
Agree. We are a SME, with about 30-50 Power BI content creators, plus a few hundred content consumers. The "1 GB per dataset" limit on the Power BI Service is very limiting! Also, more than 8 scheduled refreshes per day would be a big improvement for us.
So, I was excited to hear about Premium capacity...but then very disappointed to find that the cost for just a single "P1 node" is WAY beyond our budget. Help!
RE: Power BI Lite License
We need to be able to share dashboards with our clients without them needing a pro account in order to make this product really useful to us as an organization. The premium account model is built for a much larger organization - we are a small business with 25 staff and roughly 100 client individuals that would need access at the client/viewer level to these reports over the course of the year. In addition to the complication of the current pricing model, having to require our clients to create a Power BI account in the first place just to view their dashboard was already something that we were getting some pushback on.
RE: Power BI Lite License
'@anthony Totally agree with your article! Power BI could be the new excell for everyday users but hte current unability to show and share the magic is holding it back
RE: Power BI Lite License

RE: Power BI Lite License
We cannot enforce pro licences on our external consumers to occasionally consume our dashboards and premium is too costly at the moment for what we need and afford - premium may be an option to scale to later but not yet. We need this or a way to allow external users access the power bi reports server without an ad account but an office 365 account instead. MS - please advise as we may need to rethink our strategy

Is Microsoft willing to kill the Golden Goose? :-)

Something tells me that you not wanting to know about another SKU might not be a good reason to dislike this idea. I don't know. Maybe that's just me.
RE: Power BI Lite License
Builders should use powerbi pro. Viewers should use a office 365 subscription with pbi lite version!!
