Power Query's M Script is unnecessarily wordy and hard to reuse, as each line must include a reference to the previous line's label. A solution could be a generic tag e.g. "PreviousStep" which would always point to ... (drumroll) ... the Previous Step.
This would simplify M Script and make it more readable. Reuse of code would be much simpler as rows of M Script could be copied and pasted at will, without needing to carefully tend to previous line labels.
