We should be able to put two values and a legend on the same line chart.

RE: two values and legend on line chart

Is there any sort of workaround until PowerBI adds this feature?

RE: two values and legend on line chart

As everyone else said - this should be a no-brainer feature. In fact, you can already have two values and a legend in the "line and clustered column chart", but for some reason the second value is disabled when using a legend in the "line chart".

RE: two values and legend on line chart

Same as everybody else on here - I can't believe these aren't standard features. It's bonkers a piece of BI software can't do basic charts. Another very basic issue is clustered line and bar chart, when the secondary Y-axis is switched off so the second Y-axis dataset should revert to scale with the primary Y-axis, the secondary Y-axis labels just disappear but it doesn't scale. Plenty of research suggests it's simply not possible without workarounds managing the min/max scale of a secondary axis to force it to match the primary. This functionality is available in Excel so this is really annoying.

RE: two values and legend on line chart

I would like to add a second Values field to a line chart that already has an Axis: Date, Legend: Brand, and Values: $ Volume.
The second field would be $ Volume Year Ago and would be presented in the same color as the Brand but with a dashed line.

RE: two values and legend on line chart

This is something that should have been added from the start

Paraphrasing another voter: being able to compare subsets of the total (with legend) against the total should be a no-brainer feature

RE: two values and legend on line chart

This function is essential!Next to my Y-values it must be possible to plot the values/curves for my lower and upper tolerance. Therefore, I must be able to plot at least 3 values while adding a legend! Same problem with the secondary axis - it's not possible to have a legend AND values and the Y-axis AND a secondary Y-axis.

I also find it hard to believe this isn't a standard functionality in a dedicated reporting tool. Having more than one measure in a chart is essential, otherwise we'll have to revert to Excel or another BI product.

RE: two values and legend on line chart

Chiming in that this would be really useful to me. My particular use case (which I suspect is common) is a Plan vs. Actual widget production graph. I have two fact tables (PlanVTime and ActualVTime) and two Dim tables (CostCenter and Date). PlanVTime is future production by month while ActualVTime is historical production by day, so it's much more memory efficient to leave them separate instead of appending them. I want to be able to put Date on the X axis, have both Plan and Actual on the Y axis, and let the user choose multiple CostCenters on the Legend. Ideally, I'd also be able to control, say, line color by CostCenter, and whether or not there are markers by whether it's PlanVTime or ActualVTime.

RE: two values and legend on line chart

Going back to simple excel because of this issue!
