The recent addition of conditional formatting for values is wonderful. However, it would be great to have the ability format subtotals and totals, as the variation on those fields are often even more important to draw attention to.

Is there any update on when conditional formatting will be applied to subtotals, etc?

Please implement this, the report looks awkward and we are tired to explain this to user everytime....

Last update on this was 11th Feb, almost 11 months ago, what progress please ?

Please implement using the approach used on the Card visual (click the 3 ellipses on the Data Label colour field) but as an option on the Subtotals Font Colour field.
We produce a report forecasting hours planned for people on various projects, the individual project hours show as green, but the total wold/should show as red, indicating overloaded.

This idea has been posted 3 years ago and still not implemented? I would have thought it is one of the basic and easy feature to implement...

Totally inline with the rest of people, it is very important to have the conditional formatting available for totals and subtotals as well as for the regular rows.

Hi all,

We struggled with these limitations as well, so we made a custom visual to fix it. It's called "Financial Reporting Matrix by Profitbase" and is available for free on Marketplace. (It was featured in the November release of Power BI Desktop.)

Any questions or feedback is greatly appreciated at our github project site: https://github.com/Profitbase/PowerBI-visuals-FinancialReportingMatrix

It's very important to implement this idea as soon as possible. Thanks to all MS team.

Yes. This is important. We arent able to use Conditional Formatting just because it messes up subtotal

Why is this in backlog for years and not getting any movement even though it has considerable votes?
We need this feature

Please apply the conditional formatting to the higher level of data even though I drill down to the lower level in Matrix
