At this time, a gateway will not function properly if you are using data sources and one is online and one is on-prem. As soon as the online data source is added, the gateway is designed to gray out because Power BI interprets that it is no longer needed. I would like to be able to combine data sources from both on-prem and online sources together with the use of gateways.

Really really need this!! I created a data model using connectors available in Power BI Desktop and shared it in my workspace with others to test. Definitely disappointing when we moved to use the on premise gateway and it's not supported. Vote Smartsheet

I'll add my own concerns to the already long list... This is really blocking for large companies using PowerBI, please provide us with an ETA for this patch.
