At this time, a gateway will not function properly if you are using data sources and one is online and one is on-prem. As soon as the online data source is added, the gateway is designed to gray out because Power BI interprets that it is no longer needed. I would like to be able to combine data sources from both on-prem and online sources together with the use of gateways.

RE: Combine enterprise gateway and online data sources
It does not support merge/append, but I guess it supports creating relations between the sources?

This looks like the answer to our prayers. You can now schedule refreshes via gateway for queries that perform a merge or append query using a cloud and on-prem source:

RE: Combine enterprise gateway and online data sources
This has already been completed, hasn't it? We've been mashing up on-prem and online data sources for months now...
RE: Combine enterprise gateway and online data sources
Getting really sick of Microsoft promoting and advancing new tech (Teams, Azure advancements, AI, etc) when a boatload of old tech doesn't work at all or is severely lacking in functionality compared to competitors.
Please commit to the deadlines you set for yourselves. We do. Most everyone else does too.
