What about adding input fields to the dashboard widgets. Kind of like the text field but it is enabled for user input. This input field can be used in new column and new measure fields so that once the dashboard is set up the user can easily (without filtering) explore the data by entering different values such as if you had an input box for unit price. Then if you change it all the charts of total sales, revenue, etc. Will update to reflect what would happen if you increase the price by 10%. This will enable people to quickly and easily interrogate the data

Mo 10/7/2024 - This is planned

Thanks for the feedback! This is something we'd like to get to in the future but don't have any plans for at the moment. We suggest checking out the visual Text filter on AppSource in the interim.

RE: input fields

I would expand this a bit to include general user input - comments/remarks or even widgets that would enable combo box or radio buttons. This is very helpful when building dashboards for customer satisfaction studies and want the service managers to comments on reviews they got.

RE: input fields

We require this to drive adoption of Power BI. It is not possible to create seamless workflows without input capability.

RE: input fields

This is good, but the value input should also be sent to the Tabular model and it could be used as an unrelated dimension. For example suppose i have a drop down in which the user could select Top 10, or 20, or 30. The tabular model would then have the required DAX to calculate TOP n as per selection. But in this method the user has to select from a drop down. The user should be able to enter the value instead of just selecting from drop down e.g. 100. This value should then be sent to the Tabular Model for the required calculation.

RE: input fields

We absolutely need this!

Another example:
Chart shows operational values for the last rolling X months. Inevitably, someone wants 1 or 2 more months to get a better look at the trend longer term - but they don't want the report changed to reflect that. It would be great to be able to just enter how many of the last months they want to see and throw that into a report filter

Even better - give us a visualization of that. Say, a slider or something like that the user can click on and visually change the input value.

RE: input fields

Please implement this soon as I have users asking for this feature to explore different scenarios when doing client pricing. Thanks

RE: input fields

Definitely needed. Attribute Slicer in custom visuals is nearly there but will not filter on a large list

RE: input fields

Input fields are very common features in our report. I couldn't find them in Power BI. Please add them. Thanks!
