Yes, this feels like a crucial improvement, I am constantly facing this issue, whether it is month names or other types of categories (10 kilometers sorts before 1500 m as text categories, etc.). It is rather annoying that for this kind of simple issue you have to build workarounds like additional columns for sorting - laborous and clumsy.

You could actually use the "Is one of" search function to accomplish this with the voucher numbers after filtering on a date range, but I have had several customers ask me if the Journal Batch Number can be added to the results so they don't have to click through to the Original document when researching entries.
