Be able to copy or move reports and dashboards between Group Workspaces, removing the need to re-publish a report and/or rebuild a dashboard.

RE: Ability to move/copy report/dashboards between Group Workspaces

Just spent half a day making a complex report in my workspace, and realized I can't copy it to our "App group". I didn't even consider such a fundamental feature would not exist.

Does this really require a vote ? it's like having a word document stored in one folder and the only way to move/copy it to another folder is by doing it again.

This should be a basic feature.

RE: Ability to move/copy report/dashboards between Group Workspaces

Adding a new App Workspace and performing another publish from Power BI Desktop at least presents the option to select a workspace to publish to - solving the dataset & report 'move' problem. This is a small step in the right direction, but only for people using Power BI Desktop and still does not address Dashboards or other customisations already done to objects in Power BI Service.

It would be so much easier (and intuitive) to move content using a similar mechanism as selecting objects for a new content pack. Heck, it might even help to allow importing a content pack into a new App Workspace, but that also seems to be blocked.

For Power BI to take off in any meaningful sense in a structured business environment 'small' things like this need to be in the product - but that list of missing basics are unfortunately still very long in PBI.

Anyone from MS? I believe this is a long overdue request.

I've got a work around not sure if it will help.

If you download the desktop version and re-publish (Using the publish button in the top right) the report you can select which dashboard you wish to publish it too.

You could download any report you want to share and then publish it to the group you need?

Hope it helps,

This is a significant gap in the governance and deployment of PowerBI. While it is feasible to work through a dev/qa/uat/prod sequence with reports, the same is not true of dashboards.
