    create a direct generic mongodb server connector via tcp 27017, istead use 3rd part odbs driver.

    I agree it will be nice OotB, but until then... To give a schemaless db a schema I researched Mongo ODBC drivers and within an hour I had a free trial, installed the driver, mapped the schema and used it with the OotB ODBC connector in Power BI to visualize our data. I might research other options as time goes on..but I likely can justify the $200 cost once my trial is up.
