DeclinedExport to PDF needs to include all rows in a Table or Matrix visualization
Jean Lieverman on 15 Aug 2018 23:19:18
The new feature Export to PDF appears to be just a screen capture of each report - whatever is currently being shown on the screen is what is captured in the pdf. When a report has a Table or Matrix visualization on it with rows that scroll beyond what is shown, these are not captured in the pdf. Need to have all the data show up in the pdf.

RE: Export to PDF needs to include all rows in a Table or Matrix visualization
We, for one, need the ability to extract a Power BI report to a PDF, and have it include all rows. One of the purposes of a "report" is to capture a point in time snapshot.
RE: Export to PDF needs to include all rows in a Table or Matrix visualization
Just had a user request for this, and I'm disappointed to see it's been declined.Ideally, my users would be able to do all the work needed for an export in one press of a button. Even if these pages can be re-created as Paginated Reports (extra development time which I can't get to instantly), this provides a worse user experience. Instead of getting one single document to forward on, this will mean an export process of going to multiple reports, saving down multiple exports, and having to collect them together. I've heard the term "clicks to success" used by the Power BI team before. In the current state, my users are not succeeding. If they could export full tables, they would be. If I built out paginated reports for the tables that scroll, my users would "succeed" at the cost of many more clicks and many more minutes to complete their exports, and with a greater chance of error along the way. Please reconsider this feature.

This feature would be very helpful. It's poor form from Microsoft to decline this with justification as "use paginated reports".It's a different product and is not practical to have to rebuild reports that exist in Power BI as paginated reports.Other competitors reporting tools have this functionality. Quite disappointing that Power BI doesn't. Please reconsider the need for this in Power BI as opposed to paginated reports.

You can export formatted reports including all the rows as PDF using Inforiver. Check out the other exciting features here.
RE: Export to PDF needs to include all rows in a Table or Matrix visualization
I understand that Paginated Reports (Report Builder) can do this (I've used this features when using Report Builder with SSRS); however, the pricing for paginated reports functionality in Power BI makes it cost prohibitive for most organizations. Please include Paginated Reporting in the Pro licensing or add the ability to export to PDF into Power BI.

This feature is so much needed - and of course directly in Power BI not in a separate tool !!
RE: Export to PDF needs to include all rows in a Table or Matrix visualization
Cack-handed exporting function?? Come on Microsoft - a super-useful tool which could be soooo much better....

Please Microsoft. I too beg of you. This is so much needed for our organization. I hope you can offer a solution for us all. Thank you.
RE: Export to PDF needs to include all rows in a Table or Matrix visualization
There's a need to export data to PDF that fits onto the width of a page. Especially when a user wants a document that cannot be edited. I have a report of 13 columns that wraps when converted to PDF
RE: Export to PDF needs to include all rows in a Table or Matrix visualization
When developing a new Power BI report, we often need to export a sample of the report to PDF for seeking feedback and sharing problems with non-users and non-developers of Power BI, but exporting to PDF cuts off multiple columns from large table visualizations and all but the first few rows of data. In my opinion, it would be extremely helpful if we had a PDF page setup tool, with a preview option, that would allow us to control the zoom levels for each exported page or visualization, and the ability to select how many rows or number of pages to include in the exported PDF. Thank you!
