I have a large set of options from which I would like to pick some specific ones and use them in a slicer to filter my data.
Currently, this is not possible while it is an implemented feature for other chart types.
I'm currently using a 100% stacked column chart as a workaround.

I'm happy to say this is now complete! In the June 2019 release of Power BI Desktop you'll see you can set visual level filters on slicers. There's one known issue where applying a measure filter to a slicer in range mode causes the visual to show an error. We'll release a fix in an interim update before the July release. Thanks for your patience and your votes, everyone!

RE: Visual level filtering in slicers
Any other visual you can filter, why does the slicer not follow the same functionality?
RE: Visual level filtering in slicers
This is a strongly desired feature and fairly routine for most BI apps. Please prioritize for development.
RE: Visual level filtering in slicers
Need this ASAP.
RE: Visual level filtering in slicers
Yes, please add this feature!
RE: Visual level filtering in slicers
This is a definite requently requested feature! Right now, the workaround seems to create a calculated column (with filters in it) and use it for slicer - however, it's not always elegant.
RE: Visual level filtering in slicers
Needed badly indeed. Other competitive tools in the market do offer this sort of functionality.
RE: Visual level filtering in slicers
I also consider this feature as really needed. Definitively to be addded to the priority list.

This feature is really needed. Please add it to your priority list.

Any updates on this? the previous workaround was broken in June update and still present in July.
RE: Visual level filtering in slicers
We really need this option so as to expose only limited options without having to change the base data.
