Imagine a world where report creators can automatically apply slicer and filter selections based on specific logic, revolutionizing data analysis and user experience. This innovative approach eliminates any need for complex workarounds, optimizes slicer functionality, and paves the way for more efficient and effective data reporting.

I would really like to see the ability to use a start and end date slicer, but that can default to a preselected date range such as the current month to date. Many users would still like the ability to view any date range, even if the report opens with the current month. Right now, it's not possible to have it both ways.

Has 3k votes and the last update on this is more than 2 years old! This feature is really needed, there is almost no project where this doesn't come up. This should work just like in SSRS, being able to set a default value for the slicer when the user opens the report (current year, current month, etc.).

And no, having another column in which I put "Current year" and use that as a slicer could be a workaround, but definitely nowhere near what the user wants to use, and let's be honest, it's not really a good solution on both ends: being the dev who needs to implement it or the user who need to understand why such a basic (reporting) functionality isn't implemented yet :(.

Please add this, for PowerApps / Power BI tiles this is a must have for our users to have a context chosen by default based on user login.

I have a Drop down list which contains multiple dates, This query refresh everyday and new date's data is being added on the list /table.
Whenever user opens the report latest date should be selected by default however user should have an option to choose other dates as well.

Same as many others, I have a date dropdown list that contains all the dates when a data collection was done. I need my dashboard to always default displaying the most recent date in the dropdown list, but the older dates also need to still be selectable from the DDL. Sometimes the most recent date is today, sometimes it's last week, sometimes it's a month ago. I don't see any way to do that with relative date slicers.

I have a single date filter slicer that I need it to default to the last available date. Not today, not yesterday, but the maximum available date on the dataset allowing the user to select other available dates on the report.

Relative slicer for 'last month' doesn't help. We need to have a dynamic default selection on a slicer with a list of months (same for years).

would be nice to use drill through to an existing page with filters.
That the filter from the starting page is transferred to the secondpage.

I have a date filter and new data is added in each day. I want the default date to move to the newest date automatically rather than having to do it manually as at present. I want the user to be able to filter by previous dates if they want, so can't use the relative date function.

I have seen a lot of posts that mention how we can use ISFILTERED and ALLSELECTED functions to create default behavior on Charts. From a User Experience, these default selections need to be shown as selected in the slicers so users understand they are not seeing all records but specific records.
