Develop an item formatting property which allows to set the visibility of a report item when you want to conditionally hide the item based on a report parameter or some other expression that you specify (also DAX expressions).

You can develop this incrementally starting from visuals, then text boxes, then shapes and buttons....

If you want to go the extra mile, you can also develop a functionality that allows the final user to toggle the visibility of report items.

For more information and since it was an available and really useful capability see "Add an Expand or Collapse Action to an Item (Report Builder and SSRS)".

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/reporting-services/report-builder/hide-an-item-report-builder-and-ssrs?view=sql-server-2017

I double checked in the ideas database and there are many ideas describing the same functionality; this is the reason why I do believe this is really required and will try to collect all the previous votes under this item.

MICROSOFT POWER BI ADMINS - It's been over FIVE YEARS !!!!! Why can't we simply control the visibility of controls yet??? The visibility property is already available and this was promised in late 2022.COME ONALREADY>>>>>>>> The STOOOOPID hoop-jumping we have to go through to do this is just not right !! (Storming off while screaming like a lunatic now)

RE: Visibilty (Hide an Item)

This should be a simple matter of exposing the "Visible" flag the same way we see on Bookmarks, and similar to being able to change a colour based on a measure. This seems to be taking a long time for a simple but by the looks of it a very much needed feature.

RE: Visibilty (Hide an Item)

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE implement this idea! It will make many things much easier and a lot more possible! With this different visuals could be laid over another, it would be so easy to show or hide one of it by a simple slicer selection. No komplex bookmark settings and configurations are needed. Like said before in an other comment, hidden visuals should be completly hidden, that means not to be interactable. Instead interactions with the shown visual should be possible.

RE: Visibilty (Hide an Item)

Admin responded on 18th October 2022 that this is in Upcoming roadmap but looks like the road is too long as it has already been 1.5 years since that reply and we are yet to have this feature.Kindly release this ASAP.Regards
