It would be great if there was an option to tranfer ownership of created reports and dashboards. This way, work would not have to be duplicated if the original creator was to leave the company/change roles/etc.

We are looking into this but we do not have a proposed timeline for when this will release.

RE: Transfer of ownership of created dashboards

Is there an update on this?We ran into this issue where a previous employee had generated embed codes to share reports on our public web site and they all broke.

RE: Transfer of ownership of created dashboards

Our collegue who used to publish all our Power BI reports left the company. After his account was disabled all the report he had published in workspaces failed.

Republishing using the PBIX files doesn't work. Deleting the published reports and dataset in the workspaces and republishing does work - but then we loose use usage data and links collegues are using.
Alternative is keeping user account of ex-collegue alive. Also not what you want.

So many sexy new features every month, but some basic functionality of transfering ownership of created dashboards - to avoid the above kind of issues - already on the wishlist for almost 6 years!!

NOT IMPRESSED!!

RE: Transfer of ownership of created dashboards

Hope this will also include transfer of ownership of Embedded code created for any published to web reports as well.

This is critical! Thankfully in my current situation, I'm able to work with the current owner to rebuild our many dashboards but I imagine this isn't always going to be the case!

Better yet, similar to SSRS, having security groups that can own a series of report objects in a workspace makes objects owned by teams a better approach than by individuals.

RE: Transfer of ownership of created dashboards

Very unusual this is not done, seems so simple and a huge issue left unresolved... No other MSFT product creates single point of failure in the design like this...?

RE: Transfer of ownership of created dashboards

Is there any work around to take ownership. The user who created the report left the organisation and the AD account was deleted.

RE: Transfer of ownership of created dashboards

also useful if multiple owners were allocated to published reports and/or dashboards/datasets.
