It would be beneficial to incorporate features from Pivot tables that allow for the expansion and collapse of columns and hierarchical column groups within tabular visuals. This would not only solve the current limitations of matrices but also provide report creators with the flexibility to hide and show rows and columns, saving these settings for future use, thus eliminating the need to scroll through irrelevant data.

This feature is very much required in most of the reports/dashboards we create. Especially to expand/collapse Year-Quarter-Month-Date. Please add this feature in next release.

Please add this. This will be great improvement and will add definitively a competitive advantage for Power BI over other BI solutions. In the company where i work, we are in the path to move from SAS BI to Power BI and a lot of things Power BI can do much better and faster except for this expand/collapse buttons in the headers which SAS BI has.

Can you also look at how matrices handle additional row columns that are not part of the matrix cols. these don’t seem to be retained correctly when changing them (adding or re ordering) you can also only have the, on the left and alternating row colours don’t seem to work correctly

Replicating Excel reporting and found that column group expand collapse (+/-) is not available in Power Bi. Definitely needed
