Row-level security enabled by roles for datasets feature released in March 2016. is great but a manual process. It should be enabled via Rest API too. That would allow synchronization of user roles with custom applications automatically.

I fully agree that if we want to manage roles on data set we should have an API for that or may to propose it in the Power BI portal through an administration tool enabling the management of a huge number of roles for a large scale deployment.
This feature is powerfull but today it's difficult to deploy it.

Hi, It's realy a big effort to manage this point manually on large scale deployments. Is there any update?

This is a pretty foundational thing that needs to be in the API, shocking it is not available.

'+1 to get this implemented. The ability to control RLS programmatically is imperative to achieving real automation.
