Develop an item formatting property which allows to set the visibility of a report item when you want to conditionally hide the item based on a report parameter or some other expression that you specify (also DAX expressions).

You can develop this incrementally starting from visuals, then text boxes, then shapes and buttons....

If you want to go the extra mile, you can also develop a functionality that allows the final user to toggle the visibility of report items.

For more information and since it was an available and really useful capability see "Add an Expand or Collapse Action to an Item (Report Builder and SSRS)".

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/reporting-services/report-builder/hide-an-item-report-builder-and-ssrs?view=sql-server-2017

I double checked in the ideas database and there are many ideas describing the same functionality; this is the reason why I do believe this is really required and will try to collect all the previous votes under this item.

RE: Visibilty (Hide an Item)

Hopefully, this will also allow to conditionally hide a full page/sheet as well or allow RLS to see/hide pages.

RE: Visibilty (Hide an Item)

This needs to be separate for Mobile vs Desktop as well! Having reports specifically show up only on Mobile is necessary!

RE: Visibilty (Hide an Item)

I need that feature so urgently. All workarounds I tried are not acceptable...

Good to see this idea is planned. Can't wait till it's implemented so we can use it! Already have several cases in mind where I want to use the feature!

RE: Visibilty (Hide an Item)

In a similar way to that of the Power BI Report Builder, allowing visuals to be hidden based on an expression/function. This would prevent the need to overlay a card with a blanking/transparency function built in to hide a visual unless a slicer is selected. Using this method does work but prevents any interaction with the visual being hidden. Having an expression visibility function will allow the visual to be hidden/shown and maintain the interaction capability.

RE: Visibilty (Hide an Item)

We have PowerApps called from buttons - but different ones are used in dev/test/prod. Being able to hide/show items by deployment stage would be really useful.

I am absolutely dumbstruck that this idea is yet to see the light of the day!
