There must be an option to refresh data through schedule in power bi desktop application. Please add this important feature.

RE: Auto refresh data in Power BI desktop
I agree, please add this to Power BI Desktop. The expediency of the uploading to Power BI service via the personal gateway is pretty much voided if I have to constantly refresh Power BI desktop whenever I add to my data source in excel.

Holding it back big time
RE: Auto refresh data in Power BI desktop
I agree with others, this should be part of the basic functionality.
RE: Auto refresh data in Power BI desktop
want to use it as a near-real-time dashboard... without data refresh this is not possible. I agree with the others, this should be part of the basic functionality.
RE: Auto refresh data in Power BI desktop
desperately needed. It shouldn´t be complex
RE: Auto refresh data in Power BI desktop
desperately needed. Can set Excel to do this why not Power BI Desktop?
RE: Auto refresh data in Power BI desktop
There are situations where PBI desktop can use a data source that the Power BI Report server cannot use - in this case it is necessary to have an auto refresh function in PBI desktop. Like I am facing in fetching ApInsight Telemetry in Power BI.
RE: Auto refresh data in Power BI desktop
Really need to keep Desktop updated with Power Query of Excel to get valid scheduled updates in PBI service.

Desperately needed

For near real-time On-premise data, Round trip to portal takes too long, requires an on-prem gateway, and currently doesn't allow for 2-5 minute refreshes. Ideally, I'd like a setting in Desktop that sends the Queries to On-premises sources and once all the data returns, send it again so I get as close to a real-time dashboard as possible but accounts for variations in network and database response speeds (dynamic). Please not something that is blinky on each update.
