RE: field of "duration" type

Now that I've started working on call data I see how much work there is to get it working as it should. But it is doable, so perhaps a quick measure would make it more accessible. This post shows you how: https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Community-Blog/Aggregating-Duration-Time/ba-p/22486

This is preventing us from properly using Power BI for our Dashboard. I will need to stick with other BI until this is properly fixed. I don't understand how this isn't fixed after all this time

RE: field of "duration" type

This is actually a *really* common request from my clients, especially Call Centres.

It simply comes down to being able to format Duration as HH:mm:ss and then have the "HH" portion go over 24 hours, e.g., 25:59:59. Add this simple feature and you will open up Power BI to a few more markets.

RE: field of "duration" type

This is actually a feature request by the business all the time.

I really hope this is added soon because not being able to create charts based on durations and actually showing the duration in a proper format is looked as a pretty basic feature and that most competitors have.

Thanks

RE: field of "duration" type

What's the point of having Duration in Query editor and not Report view? What corporate on the planet doesn't want to track call-time data or processing times?

RE: field of "duration" type

All I want is to format seconds as hh:mm:ss, e.g. 25:59:59. Is this too much to ask?

Any update on when this will be even considered ?

RE: field of "duration" type

Unbelievable omission. Would anyone like to guess what an average elapsed time of 1443279 seconds is? Of course not, it's nonsense.

What is even more bizarre is that when you Edit Query there is a type of Duration.

Is there any comments from MS employees on progress of this feature, as without it Power BI is unsellable to our customers.

RE: field of "duration" type

Lack of Power BI's understanding of hh:mm:ss is killing me. I have to convert time duration to measures but measures DO NOT work in tool tips. So in my table I'm showing 61 secs as 00:01:01. In the tooltip the measures shows a 0? Argghhh!!!!
