It would be nice to be able to select what data you would like used to label your points on a map. For instance, I created a map to show hauler locations colored by the regional manager. ArcGIS does not allow labels and the default map selects my location (zip code) as the label. To be able to select a label from my data would really be helpful, so I could choose hauler name or count number or routes.

RE: map data labels
This is one of the important features in every geospatial mapping. Please add this feature.
RE: map data labels
Why is this simple functionality not available already?
RE: map data labels
I would definitely be using labels on some maps if I could choose the measure that defines them. The location category is not the most useful for my users. I'd like to surface other details about the location as the primary label.
RE: map data labels
Definitely need this! The workarounds are not great at all.
RE: map data labels
We still need this feature!!
RE: map data labels
I'm shocked that this feature didn't come with the stock maps... the work-arounds are not optimal - please apply this update!!!
RE: map data labels
How is it that Excel even has this ability and PBI does not? Promoting PBI inside my company is difficult when your other software solutions continue to undermine it.
RE: map data labels
Yes, it would be great to select the field or measure to show on the map.
I would argue that that was the original intent of this "completed" idea: https://ideas.powerbi.com/forums/265200-power-bi-ideas/suggestions/8148939-data-labels-for-maps
And this is similar to this posting: https://ideas.powerbi.com/forums/265200-power-bi-ideas/suggestions/17033581-data-labels-for-maps
RE: map data labels
seriously - i am fairly new to PBI and i cannot believe this is not possible... really causing me some problems.
RE: map data labels
mapping functionalities are really holding PBI back compared to spotfire and even tableau. get on it please!
