New Desktop app update installed an almost white user interface. There is zero contrast which is not good for the eyes. I see where some people have requested a light interface so incorporate an option to select either light or dark theme like in the Office apps.

This request is on our roadmap, but we don't have timelines to share yet. We'll update this idea when there are more details to share. Thank you!

RE: Option to use either light or dark interface.

That's enough! Get this added back ASAP. This is a heavyweight tool in the world of data analytics. Hard-core coders, analysts, data engineers, data architects, self-service BI users, all use this App. GET DARK MODE now. Visual Studio Code, Azure Data Studio, Microsoft Azure Data Explorer, Visual Studio 2022/2019/107/etc...ALL HAVE a DARK MODE. Let's go. It's ridiculous it has taken this long. It hurts my eyes. What a beautiful visualization tool. I am an expert in this tool. I have been using it since 2015. Stay in the forefront and put the DARK MODE for report analysts and report designers using POWER BI DESKTOP a PRIORITY. Hopefully I hit some algorithms there to get this moved to a top desire for those who love and use this Microsoft product.

Save the environment and energy costs and use less light :). Its like a nuclear flash in the office every time PBI desktop loads up on the monitors. PowerBI team at Microsoft must be 100% day workers to not notice their retinas being burned away by the whiteness.

RE: Option to use either light or dark interface.

I have never seen a more evil change against ones eyes, as this change.I used to love Microsoft for this product, now I have stopped using it as much as I can.I love the fact that Microsoft was one of the first software companies, but can understand how it grew to be so disconnected from from their users. It is very difficult to understand when other Microsoft products do have dark mode, how they have removed it to one of their Apps that was the first to have it.

It's crazy to me that this was here originally and then removed. I cannot grasp why anybody would think it was a good idea to remove that feature. Especially when it is available on EVERY OTHER Microsoft application. Please please please fix this - we are all begging.

Welcome to late 2022 Microsoft Power BI team! All white screen backgrounds are very 2008.

BW on 6/12/2019 2:59:49 AMComing up to 3 years now since request and the only feedback we get is:Administrator on 7/22/2022 8:30:06 AMThis request is on our roadmapThe date also has been updated on this Administrator post but the text hasn't changed? I guess 3 years development for a standard feature is fine for a billion dollar business Microsoft.
