I see that calculated columns can be created using DAX in Power BI Desktop, but this is not available in the Cloud version. It would be great to have this functionality there.

We are looking at this for our modeling in the web capability.

RE: Dax in Power BI Web
Being able to create calculated measures online or with embedded reports is needed, so users won’t have to download reports just to create simple measures. I experience users working as report designers prefer not to use Power BI desktop. Either due to working on Mac or simply because they are working with embedded reports. In my opinion no need to add all datamodeling features - only the ones similar to what you can do on desktop when connecting to a Power BI dataset.

RE: Dax in Power BI Web
We are evaluating differences between Power BI and Tableau.
And this is on BIG area where Tableau has an advantage.
You can create calculated fields/columns in Tableau Web.
But as of July 2020, it looks like you still can't do that in Power BI.
RE: Dax in Power BI Web
Require to at least be able to filter data.
RE: Dax in Power BI Web
Must have!
RE: Dax in Power BI Web
i think we should support this idea cause it will be helpful with stream dataset
RE: Dax in Power BI Web
Must have. If you are going to have data integration through the Power BI API then there needs to be a means to create DAX calculations after the data comes through the service.
RE: Dax in Power BI Web
This is definitely important to us as well since we rely heavily on Azure and its native integration with Power BI Web.
RE: Dax in Power BI Web
DAX is not available?
I can not believe it.
It can not be used as the BI platform
