I work in a big insurance company and due to security reasons, we can't upload anything to the cloud / the power BI web services.
However, we love and use the Power Bi desktop to create beautiful internal reports. but we need to share them internally with slides.
we need a way to export reports directly from the power BI desktop to PowerPoint (without publishing the report to the web)

This is a must have feature for all the analysts in my team and will love to have your support on that.

Clearly the omission is a conscious choice by MicroSoft which is trying to pull its users into the cloud as SAAS customers. The desktop version is just a teaser to allure risk averse CIOs to give it a try without letting their data off company systems. The 368 vote are meant to make the CIOs cave and allow cloud access, not to provide design insight to MS developers.

I agree with all the comments made here. You cannot have a world class BI tool without the basic features such as exporting from Power BI Desktop to MS PowerPoint. At times I try to save the dashboards I create on cloud, but sometimes even saving these can be nuisance. If I don't save this way (publish to cloud), I cannot have a set of slides. Please improve this as soon as yesterday. I am already considering moving to alternative options like Qlikview and Tableau because of this failure!

The lack of export to PowerPoint is a big miss on the desktop product.
Also, only allowing 15 slides for published reports is far too limiting. An example would be the Microsoft GDPR assessment tool which creates 25 tabs, so 25 slides. If you want to export this as is you have no option other than to break the report up, which is clunky at best. There are plenty of finance sector companies that would make good use of this feature if it were available. Please include this functionality.

I also dont understand how a Microsoft Tool (Desktop Version) cant export dashboards to the Microsoft Tool PowerPoint.
With regards to pro Version- why only 15 slides?! Please extend this number or our Company considers other tools for Creating Charts... such as cliqview or tableau.

RE: export to PowerPoint via the power BI desktop only

Exporting a report to Powerpoint is available for Pro license users through the web-view, so why isn't it available in desktop view? Please include this feature for Desktop Power BI.
