RE:

Custom tooltips are so powerful but this bug really reduces usability - a tooltip that obscures the underlying graphic frustrates the user's visual referencing and prevents taking clear screenshots for quick communications.

You can do this. Collect payment and apply to invoice. Run WIP. If it’s all setup right , the invoice revenue will be held on the balance sheet. As the resource / item cost is posted to the job , and depending on the WIP method and accounts assigned to project posting groups , running WIP again throughout the project and then once the project is completed will give the results of when to recognize the retainer payment.

RE:

is this happening during WIP posting? This is intentional , as the posting will follow the WIP accounts assigned in project posting groups. Create a general pg setup with blank bus pg and the prod pg. run transactions , posting WIP throughout. Complete job and run final WIP. it makes sense in the end.

I was finally able to get my desired results by using dimension priority. After much testing and very little support from Microsoft , I’ve determined that when a dimension is “removed” from the project …. Or the customers business posting group etc…. . , it allows the reading if the default dimensions at the final WIP calculations (depending on what you set as priority etc).

Job number is a field in the GL entries table. Therefore you can run a p/l report !?!?!

RE:

Currently we are working around this by adding dedicated calculated fields to tables via AL extensions that calculate the start of the week for a given date field, and then we use that to pivot on in Analysis View. The main issues with this approach is that it requires AL development for each date we want to pivot on, and if you drag the new date into the Rows section it gets treated as Text when sorting rather than a Date.Native support for Per Week analysis for all Dates would be great.
