It turns out that the Fabric REST API is able to change the description, as opposed to the Power BI REST API: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/rest/api/fabric/core/workspaces/create-workspaceIt has a parameter in the body "description", wich sets the description. The Fabric REST API also had the option to PATCH existing workspaces: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/rest/api/fabric/core/workspaces/update-workspaceSo the description of existing workspaces can also be changed using the REST API

My mind was blown when I came across this gap in functionality recently. Definitely should be standard part of the solution to support all functionality in sales or purchase documents across intercompany transactions.
