SET QUERY_GOVERNOR_COST_LIMIT feature is available in Fabric SQL Endpoint.  However, the official documentation states that Fabric SQL Endpoint is not supported in the products that support this feature. It would be beneficial to incorporate features from Pivot tables that allow for the expansion and collapse of columns and hierarchical column groups within tabular visuals. This would not only solve the current limitations of matrices but also provide report creators with the flexibility to hide and show rows and columns, saving these settings for future use, thus eliminating the need to scroll through irrelevant data. ... When we include the page navigation buttons, we have, in the settings, the option to choose which pages should be shown. But when we include the bookmark navigation buttons, we don't have this option. When we need to create different bookmarks, for different pages of the same report it proves to be a complication, and we are forced to create the buttons individually, using shapes.      ... ISSUE: In a Fabric pipeline, after creating for the first time a new table or writing to a lakehouse table with a Copy Data activity, pipeline execution moves on to the next activity in the pipeline faster than the lakehouse has time to update and show that there is new data available to downstream activities.  When these activities try to read from the lakehouse table, of course, this causes an error.  If this happens right after the table was created for the first time, the pipeline environment does not see the table as existing yet since the execution thread is moving forward faster than the lakehouse can update and tell the pipeline that now it has a new table or new data.   POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS:   1__Have an option in the Settings tab that when checked, causes the Copy Data activity to start waiting for a response from the lakehouse.  After the lakehouse sends the response that the all the data or table has been committed, clear the wait flag, and Copy Data activity completes its execution, and the pipeline execution resumes with the next activity.   OR    2__Provide a new activity called "Wait for I/O commit", which would pause the pipeline execution and wait for the lakehouse that is specified in its settings to send a message that the data is now available for read operations. Upon receipt of said message, this activity would allow pipeline executoin to resume.     2 simple, elegant, and user-friendly ways to once and for all get rid of this synchronization headache. ... The primary axis are outdated and require significant improvement when compared to Excel. This makes it difficult for report creators and often leads to problems when trying to manage and style them effectively. In the Table View of Power BI Desktop, which is very useful for understanding the data that makes up the semantic model, there could be a simple visual indication in the column headers that are part of the relationships between the tables. It would be extremely helpful to streamline subscription management for daily dashboards if we could leverage existing Entra DLs for the recipient list. Currently, we have an efficient process in place to manage security to apps using Entra ID security groups and have a DL for some workspaces. However when testing using a DL in place of a list of names for a Power BI subscription, it did not work.   We currrently have to manually audit and cross-check security group and subscription lists to add/remove users (which are growing and changin constantly). It is very cumbersome and causes issues with people not receiving the information they need.   Please consider enabling the use of an Entra group instead. Thanks! ... View more

Issue: When opening subscription mail in In-house email system, pushing 'Open report in Power BI' is failing to open report.   Summary: User can open Power BI report in Outlook's subscription mail.   However, it is not possible to open Power BI Report when using In-house email system.   Investigation: This is due to HTML code not containing target=”_blank” in <a> tag.   Without target=”_blank”, the button directs to the report page on same page -> This causes error in customer's email system. With target=”_blank”, the button directs to the report page on a new web page -> This will let customer use their email system with successfully connecting to Power BI Report.   This error situation is reproduceable (after saving the Outlook subscription mail as HTML and inspecting(F12) it).   Questions for future plans: Is there any future plans to add a new button that opens Power BI report in new page? The Microsoft Fabric docs provide this guide to configuring Private Link access to a Fabric tenant. However, in testing this approach a provisioned endpoint could not be connect from a separate Azure tenant. The private endpoint could be created, but when attepting to approve the connection the following error resulted:           Upon consulting Microsoft Support they concluded that it is not supported to create Private Link endpoint connections to Fabric from a different Azure tenant, citing the following documented limitations: - Customers can't connect to Fabric resources in multiple tenants from a single virtual network, but rather only the last tenant to set up Private Link. - Each private endpoint can be connected to one tenant only. You can't set up a private link to be used by more than one tenant.   Private connectivty to Fabric from a separate tenant is a high priority for our customers who rely on our services to connect to their Fabric data sources, but have strict access requirements. When working with Power BI reports containing many pages, the horizontal list of tabs at the bottom becomes cluttered and difficult to navigate. I suggest adding a page grouping feature that would allow users to: Organize report pages into collapsible groups or folders. Expand or collapse these groups using a simple toggle or arrow. Visually simplify the navigation and make large reports much more user-friendly. This would work similarly to folders in a file explorer or section groups in OneNote. Such a feature would greatly improve usability for both report developers and end-users, especially in corporate environments where a single Power BI file may contain dozens of pages. ... View more

Power BI Matrix Visual - increase the allowable columns from around 100 to at least 140 The matrix visual is currently set to around 100 columns. I have a report of Air Quality permit numbers that ranges up to almost 140. The matrix will not show all of the columns, so the customer has to filter the list with slicers the get the display to below 100 columns.
