Hi, Based on a community question: https://community.fabric.microsoft.com/t5/Developer/How-to-connect-GraphApi-with-PBi-to-get-complete-data/m-p/4681466. Since there is no direct connector between Planner and PBi desktop, We tried to connect PBi desktop and MS GraphApi (Planner endpoint) via OData. Unfortunately, since this endpoint is not supported, the results are inconsistent. For example, the attribute assigments{} is missing. Would it be possible to create a connector to connect Planner and PBi desktop. Or at least create Planner as an endpoint (using PBi pro license)?

Considering the most powerful and versatile machines are being built on ARM processors and mini developers preferring these machines due to the extended battery life, or performance per watt, I think it would be critical for Microsoft to start developing Power BI Desktop to be fully compatible with ARM processors. Windows ARM with a snapdragon processor is a great machine. It is where all machines are going. It's time for Power BI Desktop to get up to speed with everything else.

Currently, Power BI Desktop does not provide any built-in mechanism to log or audit user sign-ins. This creates a visibility gap for organizations that need to: Monitor license usage . Track who is accessing Power BI Desktop and when. Audit user behavior for security and governance purposes. While Power BI Service and Microsoft 365 offer audit logs, these do not cover local Power BI Desktop usage. We would like to request the addition of a feature in Power BI Desktop that allows administrators to track user sign-in activity, especially for users with Power BI Pro or Premium licenses.

When defining a follower database (or shortcut) in Fabric RTI (Eventhouse), the follower database in Fabric folllows the entire ADX source Database But in ADX when create a data share, which is the similar concept, it's possible to share only certain tables as explained here https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/data-explorer/data-share#sharing-tables It will be good to have the same kind of sharing logic for Fabric RTI as we have for ADX : to be aligned in terms of capabilities and have a more granular control of what is to be shared.

In paginated reports, if a business needs to display the same column under two or more different names, this is currently not possible in Fabric. While it is technically possible to pull the same column into the visualization multiple times, renaming one instance automatically renames all duplicates. If Fabric allowed the same column to be displayed under multiple names, it would greatly benefit business users. Currently, to achieve this, we must modify the dataset at the Data Engineering (DE) level, which becomes a tedious process—especially when DE and Data Analytics (DA) are handled by separate teams.

There have been times when I double-clicked on a PBIX file that was already open. That results in having the same file open in two instances. When I discover my error, it's hard to determine which to save and which to discard. I may have made changes to both! When double-clicking a file that's already open, Power BI should simply switch focus to the opened file.

The current card visual forces users to overlap elements or waste copious amounts of time creating custom visuals. The new card feature should give users the ability to create multiple cards in a single container and provide a greater level of customization.

It would be beneficial to incorporate features from Pivot tables that allow for the expansion and collapse of columns and hierarchical column groups within tabular visuals. This would not only solve the current limitations of matrices but also provide report creators with the flexibility to hide and show rows and columns, saving these settings for future use, thus eliminating the need to scroll through irrelevant data.

Enabling customized calculations at the query level for subtotals and grand totals would offer greater flexibility in reporting and preserve performance. Efficient organization of control settings to modify the style of these totals separately will empower report creators to achieve their desired appearance, while addressing their need for more control and customization in reporting.

Imagine a world where report creators can automatically apply slicer and filter selections based on specific logic, revolutionizing data analysis and user experience. This innovative approach eliminates any need for complex workarounds, optimizes slicer functionality, and paves the way for more efficient and effective data reporting.

Visibility into Source Table Metadata Currently, there is no available option to view metadata or properties (such as data source name, original location, or table lineage) for a Shortcut table. Providing this level of visibility is critical for data governance, auditing, and root cause analysis. Especially in environments where multiple shortcuts and data sources are interconnected. This information would be invaluable for both developers and administrators managing enterprise data at scale. Improved Stability and Reliability of Shortcut Integration We've observed some recurring instability or performance issues when using Shortcuts in production environments. Enhancing the underlying reliability and offering better diagnostics or logging would go a long way in increasing user confidence and adoption of this feature.

For every other Microsoft application, there is a mode where if a colleague has open, let's say an excel file, on their machine and I try to open that same file, the file opens for me as read-only. Furthermore, I am unable to override the existing file unless I am the first to open it. I don't understand why this not a feature for power bi desktop files and would strongly suggest that it is. I don't even care about real time collaboration. Right now we have to have Teams chats to coordinate who is in the file when and on more then a few occasions, we have overwritten one another. This seems like an easy fix but I am sure I am oversimplifying it.

Interpreting visuals without a clear legend to indicate logic behind specific styles can lead to confusion and decision-making errors. An idea to enhance clarity and transparency by ensuring legends and tooltips accurately display colors, patterns, and other visual components influenced by logics, would enable report consumers to easily understand the applied logic and make more effective decisions.

Hi, Power BI built in visuals appear to be dated and don't even match with capabilities in basic charts that we have in .Net framework. Few examples below - The Power BI funnel chart is the worst (appears from Stone Age era) visually I have seen when compared to its equivalent in .net framework which looks more professional, please at least match visuals on par within our own products - No built in visual to just display progress, currently we have to adapt column:bar/donut visuals which is more of a workaround requiring additional work - Gantt chart could do better with ability to add milestones on a single timeline bar instead of having to add new rows for each milestone - no capabilities for gradient color filling or patterns within data points in visuals, only solid colours are currently permitted, not on par with what we have in .net framework which has more capabilities and looks more professional - conditional formatting should allow for more than 3 values low, mid point, and high values - Line visual/chart tooltip issue. With multiple series hovering on a particular series shows all the other series as well, which is congested and confusing. Expectation is just show the tooltip for the specific series only - Ability to link visuals using matching fields to filter, which may not belong to the same table and no relationship. e. g selecting a data point on visual A, filters Visual B using a common filter field between the two

Power BI currently supports UI buttons only at the report level (e.g., page navigation, bookmarks, drillthrough), but does not allow embedding them inside matrix or table visuals. This limits the ability to create truly interactive dashboards—especially in calendar or grid-based designs where each cell could represent a dynamic action point (e.g., register for an event, open a detailed view, update a status). Proposed Feature: Enable embedding of interactive elements (e.g., buttons or action triggers) inside matrix or table cells. Support native button visuals, or allow DAX measures with action logic like navigation or bookmark triggers. Use Cases: Calendar dashboards with “View Details” or “RSVP” buttons per date. Task managers with status update buttons per row. Drillthrough actions without right-clicking. Impact: Greatly enhances user experience in operational dashboards. Reduces the need for workarounds using emojis, slicers, or multiple pages.

The primary axis are outdated and require significant improvement when compared to Excel. This makes it difficult for report creators and often leads to problems when trying to manage and style them effectively. By offering more format settings, greater control over displayed data can be provided, especially if axis ticks, new gridlines, and separators are also included.
